Who is Sarah Haines?
Born in Texas, raised in Louisiana by two caring parents, I have grown to appreciate the familiarity Shreveport gives me and hope to be a part of its continued growth. My parents instilled a work ethic in us that pushed me to be creative and adventurous. They urged me to pursue my interests in classical art, painting and drawing. I continued to seek ways to incorporate art with my future goals and received a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. While I still continue my shipping and receiving manager position at Sportspectrum, a locally owned running store, I love to have a busy schedule and interacting with clients. I am so excited to have the opportunity to be a part of Revision’s team and hope to learn, grow, and make an impact for our community. Watching this community develop in its love for art, people, and support is an inspiration to me.
What challenges have you faced along the way?
A major struggle of mine is confidence in myself and my abilities to try and fail. It has taken me a while to transition from college to the professional world and I began to feel like my college years were a waste. Why hadn’t I tried to get a degree in something more reliable? Working at Revision has opened my eyes to all the possibilities for learning and gaining knowledge. Failure is a scary thing but it is all worth it to learn a lesson about myself.
What are you looking forward to in your professional career?
As I grow in my knowledge of video editing and graphic design, the more my passion grows for it. I’m proud of the podcasts and social content we publish at Revision and I love that I can educate and make an impact in our 318 community. I want to continue to contribute to our community of young entrepreneurs and help them grow their businesses.
What content are you consuming these days?
Of course my favorite podcast is our own Young Creatives podcast but I usually am overindulging in true crime and educational podcasts. Interviews about someone’s life story or experiences are extremely interesting to me.
